The swimming area within the Szerzyny Recreation Complex is a compact and welcoming spot for families to relax by the water. It was created through the revitalization of the former manor ponds in Szerzyny, which had been unused for over a century. The swimming area’s location in the Ciężkowice Foothills, a picturesque part of southern Lesser Poland, surrounded by lush forests and nestled among hills and rolling knolls, is an added attraction. The swimming area is a section of the water reservoir—with a total area of 0.9 ha—demarcated by buoys; it features two sandy beaches, two beach volleyball courts, a barbecue hut, and a brine graduation tower. In the middle of the reservoir lies a picturesque island connected by an illuminated pier. Along the longer side of the reservoir, there is also an illuminated boardwalk approximately 250 mb long. The maximum depth of the reservoir is 180 cm. The average depth of the swimming area is 110 cm. The swimming area is mechanically aerated to maintain good water quality. The swimming area has changing rooms—separate for women and men—showers—separate for women and men—men’s and women’s restrooms, and a room for mothers with children.
