The “W Dolinie 10.Stawów” swimming area is a project completed by the Municipality of Poniatowa in 2021 on the southeast side of Pond No. 8, located in the center of Poniatowa. ZONE FOR NON-SWIMMERS—the first zone of the swimming area designated for non-swimmers, with a maximum permitted depth of 1.2 m from the water’s surface. The zone should be marked off with red buoys. Outside the zone, a 5-meter-wide safety zone with a depth not exceeding 1.2 meters has been designed. The zone will feature an inflatable water course for those who can swim. ZONE FOR SWIMMERS—The second zone of the swimming area, intended for swimmers, is designed to have a maximum depth of 2 m from the water’s surface to ensure a comfortable entry into the water. This zone must be marked off with yellow buoys. A safety zone—the area where the water current erodes the bottom—has been designed to be 2 m wide. This zone will feature a pressurized water channel for non-swimmers. CHILDREN’S PADDLE AREA—the third inner zone of the swimming area, designed as a paddling area for children. It is designed to a maximum depth of 0.3 m from the water surface. The zone is fenced off with panel fencing as specified in the project’s materials list. The safety zone is set at a distance of 1 m and a depth of 0.3 m. BEACH—a sandy area created along the existing shoreline and extended less than 10 m into the water. The beach has three access points: from the east, center, and west. The central and western access points are designed as 4-meter-wide sections of the beach, directly adjacent to the walking path. As these access points are part of the swimming area and beach, their surface has been designed to be sandy. The slopes throughout the entire site do not exceed a 15% gradient. Thanks to their location, the access paths provide the most functional and aesthetically pleasing descent to the water’s edge. Additionally, the beach features a paved sunbathing area—a grassy section with a slight slope—adjacent to the promenade. Excellent vantage points can be found on the bridge connecting both banks of the pond, on the circular pier, or on the footbridge located above the lock connecting the neighboring ponds. Near the swimming area, you can park your car in the parking lot next to the Municipal Office on Słoneczna Street, on 3rd May Constitution Square, or next to the PCPR building (11th November Street). At the swimming area, on the side facing the beach volleyball courts, there are seasonal changing rooms, a shower, and a sink with running water. During the swimming season, a restroom with running water for beachgoers (coed, for non-swimmers) is located at the Art Cafe by the pier. Nearby restaurants at the “Słowik” Hotel, the “Montis” Hotel, the “Tukan” Hotel, the “Pod Kogutem” Restaurant, and the Art Cafe by the pier offer hot and cold dishes, beverages, ice cream, and waffles. Water quality is tested during the summer season by the SGS laboratory in Pszczyna according to a schedule approved by PSSE Opole Lubelskie. The swimming area will be promoted on the websites www.poniatowa.pl and www.osir.poniatowa.pl, on the OSIR fan pages @osirponiatowa and @kąpielisko,tężnieiboiskodosiatkówkiplażowejWDolinie10Stawów, the Municipal Office @Gmina Poniatowa, and in printed materials (brochures, flyers, posters).
