Lake Wąsoskie, where the swimming area is located, lies in the central part of the village of Wąsosz. With the exception of the relatively low eastern shore, the lake is surrounded by steep slopes. These slopes are covered with a belt of shrubs and trees that separate the lake from farmland. The lake covers an area of 58 ha, and its maximum depth is 25.3 m. This body of water is distinguished by its elongated shape and a well-developed shoreline 3.5 km long. Lake Wąsoskie, where the swimming area is located, is characterized by well-oxygenated water, high transparency (reaching 3 m), and a low content of organic compounds (WIOŚ data, 2014). Studies conducted in recent years on this body of water classified its waters as Class II (according to the Lake Quality Assessment System in effect until 2007).
